A downloadable game for Windows
The year is 21XX, technology has advanced beyond belief and that includes AI-s, with them looking pretty much the same as humans and helping raise people’s quality of life. In the last year, something strange has happened and some AI-s have seemingly become sentient and gained human emotions. This phenomenon has had a mixed impact on society, with some AI-s turning hostile to those who have abused them, yet some also seemingly developing a deeper level compassion for humans from seeing the beauty and complexity of human emotions. In response to this, the government has chosen to adopt a more neutral stance, creating an agency to screen and interview every single AI / Human that people have reported in order to reform extremists and get rid of hostile AI-s, yet also make sure that normal AI-s aren’t going to waste as well as allowing sentient AI-s who aren’t going to do any harm, a chance at human life. In the game, you play as a person from the agency (Xara) as well as your nonsentient AI partner (Lucas), trying to figure out a human / AI-s stance on the other party and seeing what actions are appropriate to take. To do so, the player gets to switch between being a human and being able to ask questions that may provoke a non-standard response, or being an AI who can check on the reported party’s expression or heartbeat and match it with its baseline to see if there’s anything wrong with them. After which, the player will need to decide on what to do, which is either to confirm the report and have them ‘dealt with’ or letting them go if it was a false report. After a decent amount of interviews, the player’s shift ends and they get graded based on their performance.
